Geely today announced in China the all-new Emgrand, which is nothing compared to our well-known budget sedan. The new Emgrand under the designation Emgrand L Hi X has become a “super-electric hybrid”. This is a radically new car both outside and inside.
Geely Emgrand L Hi X uses Thor electrical installation components – Geely’s answer to a similar BYD DM-i platform. Here, a small-capacity gasoline engine charges a traction battery connected to an electric motor.
All parameters have not yet been disclosed, but the most important thing is reflected in the teasers: the fuel consumption of the car is 3.8 liters per 100 km of track, on one tank of Emgrand L Hi X it can overcome 1300 km, and it takes 6.9 to accelerate to 100 km/h from.
The Geely hybrid system is self-learning, self-adapting and self-tuning – it automatically switches between approximately 20 different operating modes on its own.
Inside the Geely Emgrand L Hi X is far from a state employee. He has a digital instrument panel, a large display on the center panel, a gearshift joystick. Alas, so far neither the timing of the appearance of new items on sale, nor the cost have been reported.
