Analytical firm TrendForce believes that the average price of DRAM memory chips will continue to decline in the second quarter.
The decrease will reach 5%. It was caused by the existing inventory balance of suppliers and customers, the impact of the situation in Ukraine and high inflation, which reduced the purchasing power of consumers. Currently, the server market remains the only driver of demand.
However, prices in this segment are also expected to decline by 0-5%. However, if we compare it with the indicator of the current quarter, equal to 8-13%, it is clear that the situation is becoming more favorable for producers. DDR4 and DDR5 memory for PCs will fall in price by 3-8% in the second quarter. In the current quarter, the decrease in the average price of DDR4 is estimated at 5-10%, DDR5 – at 3-8%.
