Digital Foundry compared the recently released Grand Theft Auto V for PS5 with the PS4 and PC versions at maximum settings.
From the looks of it, GTA V for PS5 has proven to be the best version available — so far. But some points could be better.
Experts noted support for 4K, fast download speeds and improved implementation of 60 FPS support (the latter is especially noticeable in comparison with the PC version, where there were certain problems). Also on PS5, the game features smoother animations and temporal anti-aliasing, which significantly reduces noise and flicker.
As for ray tracing, the PS5 only applies ray tracing to shadows cast by the sun, which makes them more realistic and helps reduce flicker.
It is also reported that the updated GTA V for PS5 is inferior to the PS4 and PC versions in terms of geometry detail, and the operation of anisotropic filtering differs little from the previous generation.
