iPad Air (2022) has Build Quality Issues

According to some users, the build quality of the iPad Air (2022) does not match the previous generation model.

Several early adopters of the new iPad Air have taken to online platforms to complain about the poor design of the back. Users claim that the back of the iPad Air (2022) feels much thinner than the previous model. Some consumers note that the thin body leads to creaking. Apple didn’t confirm any build level changes to the iPad Air (2022) during its Peek Performance announcement.

During the presentation of the new iPad Air, Apple said in a statement that the body of the device is made from 100% recycled aluminum. The latest generation iPad Air, the iPad Air (2020), was also made from 100% recycled aluminum. The exact data on whether any changes have been made to the build quality level of the new iPad Air compared to the old model has not yet been disclosed. However, given user complaints, it’s likely that Apple might have thought of a thinner chassis to make room for upgraded hardware that includes the M1 chip. Interestingly, the dimensions of the iPad Air (2022) are identical to those of the iPad Air (2020).
