According to Omdia, the Samsung Galaxy A12 budget smartphone has surpassed the iPhone to become the top-selling smartphone in 2021. The device, which debuted at the end of 2020, topped the list of best-selling phones with an incredible result.
Samsung reportedly shipped 51.8 million units of the device, surpassing the Apple iPhone 12, which posted 41.7 million units. Interestingly, the iPhone 12 costs five times more than the Galaxy A12. The average selling price of the Galaxy A12 is $160 compared to $851 for the iPhone 12.
In third place is the iPhone 13, with sales of 34.9 million units. The iPhone 11 is in fourth place with 33.6 million units sold. Fifth place went to the entry-level phone Redmi 9A. It is the cheapest of the best selling phones on this list with an average selling price of $78.
Then come the iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro. Closes the top ten Samsung Galaxy A02 – another entry-level device.
