The Chinese company Nio has introduced the ET5 electric sedan to the home market, which will become a direct competitor to the Tesla Model 3.
The appearance of the new Nio ET5 uses the design experience of the “older” ET7 electric car , the entire body of which was created for maximum aerodynamic efficiency. The novelty has received retractable door handles, air intakes in the front bumper, as well as a number of other features that reduce the drag coefficient to an impressive 0.24.
Studying the interior of the novelty, you will notice that there are practically no physical buttons in the cabin. Instead of analog switches, a digital instrument panel with a 10.5-inch screen and a multimedia complex with a 12.8-inch touchscreen display are used. The list of options includes sports seats with heating, ventilation and massage, LED “tuning” lighting with a choice of 256 colors, as well as the Dolby Atmos 7.1.4 acoustic complex and the Aquila proprietary autopilot , which uses 33 different sensors in its work.
The all-wheel drive electric car comes with two electric motors, 150 hp at the front axle and 210 hp at the rear. The total power of the power plant is 480 hp. and 700 Nm of torque, and from standstill to 100 km / h, the novelty accelerates in 4.3 seconds. The battery is 75, 100 or 150 kWh batteries, which allow you to travel 550, 700 and 1000 kilometers without recharging, respectively.
The first commercial copies of the Nio ET5 will go to Chinese dealers of the brand in September 2022. If you buy a car with a pre-installed battery, it will cost at least 328,000 yuan, which is about 3.8 million rubles, and if you use a rental battery, the price tag drops to 258 000 yuan (about 3 million rubles). A little later, the electric car will be sold in Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Sweden and Denmark.
Earlier, the publication Tarantas News said that the most technologically advanced cars of the year were chosen in China. The China Automotive Science and Technology Award , one of the most influential science and technology awards in China’s auto industry, was awarded to the Nio ES8 electric crossover .
