Today, November 16, 2021, to everyone’s surprise, Nvidia released Image Scaling . This is a scaling technology, a direct analogue of AMD FSR , which was made in response to the advanced Nvidia DLSS upscaler .
It should be understood that Nvidia DLSS requires tensor cores, so it can only be successfully implemented on RTX graphics cards with support for ray tracing . AMD’s product is not so demanding, but the results are appropriate, however, we should not expect miracles from Nvidia Image Scaling either.
The new technology is already available in the latest GeForce drivers under the number 496.76. The first tests show an effective performance boost when Nvidia Image Scaling is enabled.
