Riot Games announced in the past weeks that it will take new steps to reduce toxicity in the League of Legends game.
One of these steps was related to the chat restriction in the League Of Legends game, but Riot Games took a step back regarding the restriction on this issue.
According to the statement made by Riot Games, it is said that with the 11.21 update coming to the League of Legends game, the decision to disable chats in League of Legends matchmaking games will be considered in later patches. After intense feedback from the gaming community, only “regional” chats will be disabled for the next two updates.
Riot Games made the following statement on the subject in the 11.21 update notes;
“Starting this patch, /all chat will be disabled in match queues in several regions,” he said. “Since our original announcement, the response has varied between regions, so we’re changing our approach and disabling only all chats where players are most likely to experiment.”
For now, it remains unclear which regions will be affected by the changes to be made in the League of Legends game /all chat. He stated that disabling the developers’ /all chat on a per-region basis is temporary. The restriction in question will be found in the 11.21 and 11.22 updates.
Riot also stated, “In regions where opt-out is available, /all chat will continue to be used in private games and no other tools will be disabled,” while adding, “We will evaluate the impact of this change through verbal abuse reports, penalty rates, surveys, and direct feedback.” gave his words.
The last statement said, “Once the test is over, we can disable /all chat, make changes to the disablement or re-open it on a regional basis,” while “We can also make adjustments during the test according to the initial results.” expressions were also used. As a result, Riot will make a clearer decision about the feature after determining the benefits and costs of the restriction in question to the community.
