Users in Russia filed a class action lawsuit in the Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow, in which they demand 60 million rubles from the Netflix online cinema .
As it was known earlier, Netflix suspended its work in the country and “froze” the production of Russian TV series . The ability to renew a subscription after payment is also gone.
According to representatives of the case, Netflix violated the rights of Russian consumers by its decisions, since the contract between the platform and subscribers does not provide for a unilateral refusal to fulfill its obligations.
The plaintiffs demand to pay each participant in the case 2 million rubles in moral compensation, and also to collect from Netflix a fine in the amount of 50% of the amount awarded in the end in favor of the “victims”.
Finally, the members of the group, which, by the way, consists of 20 people, demanded that Netflix restore access to its services for users in Russia. The plaintiffs’ lawyer added that anyone who also considers their rights violated can join the lawsuit.
