Shinji Hashimoto, General Producer Of The Final Fantasy Series, Leaves Square Enix

Shinji Hashimoto announced that today was his last day at Square Enix . He retires after 28 years with the company: Hashimoto joined Squaresoft in April 1994.

Hashimoto served as the general producer of the Final Fantasy series for over a decade . He was an executive producer and co-creator of the Kingdom Hearts series and an executive director of Square Enix Holdings . Hashimoto has also worked on  The World Ends with You ,  Chrono Trigger ,  The Last Remnant  and other games.

A year ago, Hashimoto left his position as  brand manager and CEO, but continued to advise teams and train company leaders.

In his farewell tweet, Hashimoto thanked everyone who supported him and assured that he remains Square Enix’s biggest fan. And character artist Toshiyuki Itahana dedicated a thank you card to him.
