The Roadster sports car in the second generation can become a classic “long-term construction”, as its launch into the series is regularly postponed.
Now the automaker has even stopped accepting orders for models from the debut Founders Edition series, which are selling for $ 250,000 per unit. There is information that the circulation of this series will not exceed 1000 cars, so the company may well raise $ 250 million from those who want to buy a car first.
The premiere of the new product as a prototype took place back in 2017, and initially Tesla was going to bring it to the market before the end of 2020. Among the most tempting parameters was considered the ability of the electric car to accelerate to “hundreds” in less than a couple of seconds.
By last year, it became clear that the new Roadster sports car would not appear on the market before 2022; the automaker even removed the corresponding section of the portal to the secondary menu from the main page.
There is information that in the middle of this month Tesla reduced the list of data on the Roadster model, removing references to the price of the auto debut Founders Edition series, for the reservation of which customers had to shell out $ 250,000 at once.
