“Apple has limited payment by cards of the Mir payment system. At the moment, already added (cards) they are gradually removed from the Apple Pay application, ”said a support employee. The fact that Apple Pay blocked the ability to add new cards of the Mir system was previously reported by Kommersant, noting that previously connected cards are still available. Now the problems have begun with the latter.

Earlier, the press service of the National Payment Card System, which manages Mir cards, told TASS that they see a strong decrease in the number of downloads of new cards to the Apple Pay service. In this regard, the NSPK sent an official request to Apple. At the same time, it was noted that payment with Mir cards already loaded into the Apple Pay service should take place without restrictions – there are no restrictions on the NSPK side.

Although Apple allowed the use of Mir cards to pay for subscriptions to its services, not all users were able to link their cards to their Apple ID. The company explained this by problems with banks, emphasizing that there was no ban on the use of Mir cards on its part. Apple has stopped sales in Russia, while continuing to release updates for its devices in the country.
