Apple has suspended support for Mir cards in its Apple Pay payment service since March 24. The linking of new maps has not been working since yesterday, and previously downloaded maps gradually stop working. RBC writes about this with reference to the data of the National Payment Card System
“Apple informed NSPK that it is suspending support for Mir cards in the Apple Pay payment service. Since March 24, loading new Mir maps into the service has become unavailable. The work of previously downloaded maps will be stopped by Apple over the next few days , ”said a representative of the NSPK.
Sberbank confirmed that Apple notified the bank of the suspension of the further use of Mir cards in Apple Pay. “All Mir cards previously linked to the wallet will be removed from the payment service by Apple itself in the near future. At the same time, the use of the SberPay e-wallet is still available for Android customers ,” a Sber representative said, adding that Samsung Pay and Mir Pay wallets work with Mir cards as usual.
Earlier this week, users of the Apple Pay service drew attention to the inability to link new Mir cards. Support for Mir cards appeared in Apple Pay in July last year, and recently this feature has become especially in demand, since Visa and Mastercard have suspended their activities in Russia.
