Maxsun, a Chinese company, has a Meterstone PC Components division that develops devices such as motherboards and graphics cards based on Intel and AMD processors. Meterstone is also focusing on hybrid systems, which combine the larger benefits of a do-it-yourself approach, as well as the utility of a mobile chipset’s graphics capabilities and power efficiency.
Yesterday it became known about the new design of the motherboard from Meterstone. The Meterstone H45 is powered by a 12th Gen Intel Alder Lake processor with two available desktop DIMM memory slots and a full PCIe Gen4 x16 slot available for GPUs. Although the Maxsun brand did not mention the exact processor used in the new motherboards, we can say that these are probably 14-core Alder Lake-P series chips.
Meterstone Alder Lake motherboards are unique in that they do not have a separate chipset like other Intel 600 series desktop motherboards on the market. The Alder Lake-P series offers an integrated chipset that does not require separate chips or heatsinks to maintain temperature. However, the CPU cooler can be a copper block supplied by MaxSun, as in previous versions of the company’s motherboards. Maxsun has made hybrid motherboards before. In November 2021, the company unveiled the design of the Tiger Lake series motherboards, which will offer Intel Core i7-11800H or Core i5-11260H processor chips. Maxsun’s motherboard plans were the first among desktops that could be compatible with PCIe Gen4 graphics.
