Russia Makes NashStore For Android Apps

The campaign of anti-Russian sanctions and cancellations has led to the fact that Russian players have lost access to a number of familiar services. In particular, there are difficulties in buying and paying for applications on Google Play .

The Russian store NashStore is called to solve the problem . It is created by ANO “Digital Platforms” with the participation of more than 70 companies. The Android app store is scheduled to launch on May 9, 2022, and payment methods in it will be compatible with the Mir payment system.

As Arseniy Shcheltsin, CEO of ANO Digital Platforms, notes, the non-profit organization is faced with the task of eliminating the dominant and monopoly position of app stores. Previously, the AppGallery platform created by Huawei was launched for this purpose .

In the event of a complete withdrawal of Google from Russia, a regulatory framework has been prepared for the pre-installation of popular applications on new smartphones. And to fill in the application registry, an expert council is formed and developers are selected.
