Samsung Ends Support for Galaxy S9 Smartphones

Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+ smartphones will no longer receive software updates. The flagships of early 2018 are no longer included in the list of Samsung devices on which security updates are installed.

The last major update to the Galaxy S9 was the update to One UI 2.5 received at the end of 2020.

In addition, Galaxy S10 series smartphones have been upgraded from monthly to quarterly updates since they are over three years old.

Recall that there was a scandal with the latest Galaxy S22. Samsung was accused of deliberately degrading the performance of devices in games and applications. Because of this, the company was even worried about a possible decrease in sales and lowered the price of smartphones in South Korea.
