Tesla wants to let Steam games run on its cars without requiring developers to make special porting or modifications
When Tesla launched the new versions of the Model S and Model X, the company said that the performance of the built-in processor was comparable to that of the PlayStation 5. It was also said that you would be able to play Cyberpunk 2077 and other modern games without any problems.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said today that the company is currently working on porting the Steam library of games to its vehicles. Asked by game journalist Ryan McCaffrey about whether Cyberpunk will appear in the Model S and Model X in the future, Musk said:
Instead of porting individual games to the car’s infotainment system, Tesla’s goal is to allow owners to play all games on Steam in the future, which is more in the long-term interest.
In other words, Tesla wants to allow Steam games to run on their cars without requiring developers to make special porting or modifications.
Answering another question, Musk confirmed that the Cybertruck electric pickup will support Cyberpunk 2077, with Cybertruck deliveries expected to start in 2023.
